C.M. James is an author, entrepreneur, publisher, label owner, and more; connecting stories, music, and people.

Authorpreneur C.M. James Nexus Logo

C.M. James (real name: Carlos McNeely) is what you'd call an authorpreneur. The founder of the C.M. James Nexus, a connected world of publishing, music, and the LiteraVerse. From Kansas City to Nashville, he’s built an ecosystem that turns stories into sound and ideas into impact. With rumored Kansas City Mob, Gang, and Cartel ties he's beomce a powerhouse business man.

The story behind the Nexus

C.M. James is the mind—and engine—behind the C.M. James Nexus, the hub where publishing, music, and the LiteraVerse meet. He writes, he builds, and he connects: authors with readers, artists with listeners, and ideas with execution.

Born and raised in Kansas City and now based in Nashville, James shaped his creative drive the hard way. Early missteps in adulthood didn’t break him; they refined his edge. He turned lessons into discipline, ambition into service, and vision into a system that helps other people move faster and farther. That philosophy powers everything he does: when he learns something, he shares it—and builds a lane so others can use it too.

Publishing: C.M. James Writes

Under C.M. James Writes, he develops original fiction, collaborates with authors, and builds bridges for new voices. His breakout series Alpha Blood: The Battle for Sanguis earned awards and a loyal following, establishing the tone for his brand: cinematic pacing, heart, and worldbuilding that stays with you. He followed with The Dreamfall series and continues expanding that universe with new projects—including Blood: Echoes (slated for 2026) and C.M. James Nights, a collection that leans into late-night, intimate storytelling.

The publishing arm isn’t just a catalog; it’s a platform. It mentors, tests, and releases projects with the same focus on clarity and craft that defines James’s work across the Nexus.

Music: C.M. Jaye Music

On the label side, C.M. Jaye Music champions artists with story-first records and honest performances. James’s own drops—including “3 Shots”, a gritty drink-along anthem—sit alongside the Larysa Jaye Legacy slate. Recent and upcoming releases include “No Other Face”, “Holy Water,” “Walk Away,” and “The Nashville Dream” (album + title track, Fall 2025). The label’s approach is simple: put the song and the soul front and center, and let the audience feel the life behind the music.

The LiteraVerse

The LiteraVerse is the bridge—the connective tissue between books and music. It’s where stories sound alive: novels accompanied by immersive soundscapes, songs that carry narrative threads, and releases designed to move across mediums without losing the heart of the work. LiteraVerse titles live inside the Nexus so fans can experience a story’s language and its pulse in one place.

Building beyond art: ventures and service

The Nexus isn’t only creative output—it’s infrastructure. James applies that same builder’s mindset to practical ventures that keep the machine healthy and the community supported, including property management initiatives (e.g., Kascades Colonials) and a feline-behaviorist venture, Just Kitten. Different lanes, same mission: create systems that solve real problems and give people room to grow.

Behind the scenes, a small, responsive team—coordinated through his assistant—keeps projects moving. Whether it’s an author launch, a label rollout, or a LiteraVerse drop, the focus is always the same: make it clear, make it true, make it better for the next person.

Philosophy

James is a salesman, creator, thinker, builder, and mentor—a connector who refuses to accept the box he’s handed. He believes in momentum over perfection, partnerships over ego, and teaching as you climb. The Nexus reflects that belief: one vision, many voices. As more authors and artists release under the brand, the world grows—organically, collaboratively, and with purpose.

Strategy & Focus

C.M. James’s approach blends creativity with infrastructure. Every lane, from writing, music, publishing, and service, feeds into the same ecosystem of ownership, innovation, and impact. His focus isn’t on building separate brands; it’s on building systems that outlast him, giving others the tools and freedom to do the same.

The Literaverse Future

The Literaverse was born from the fusion of books and music — but its potential reaches far beyond pages and sound. At its core, it’s about creativity in motion. Every form of art, design, and performance tells a story, even if it’s not written in words. The next phase of the Literaverse is about uniting those languages of expression into one evolving ecosystem.

The future of the Literaverse envisions a space where storytelling expands into every creative industry:

  • Dance — translating rhythm and emotion into visual storytelling, choreographing scenes from imagination to movement.

  • Art & Design — capturing narrative through color, fashion, and form; using visuals to extend stories beyond the frame.

  • Architecture — where structure itself becomes storytelling, turning imagination into physical space and emotional environment.

  • Film & Performance — creating cinematic and theatrical layers that bring literary and musical worlds to life.

  • Technology & Interactive Media — blending immersive tools like soundscapes, augmented visuals, and virtual experiences that let audiences enter the story.

Every one of these creative lanes shares a common thread: literature at its root. Whether through words, sound, design, or movement — each is a form of authorship. The Literaverse redefines what it means to be an author, transforming the term into creator.

This evolution is more than expansion — it’s alignment. A future where collaboration replaces competition, where an artist’s brushstroke, an architect’s blueprint, or a choreographer’s motion all connect back to the same foundation: story.

The Literaverse isn’t just about creating art. It’s about creating worlds — and making creativity itself the universal language that connects them all.
